PREPARING FOR KICKOFF WEEKEND

PULPIT ANNOUNCEMENT

In 2025, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal received pledge commitments and bequests totaling more than $10,000,000, and I am pleased to report that we helped by contributing $[amount raised in your parish in 2025 toward our parish goal of $XX].

Pope Leo XIV’s motto, In Illo uno unum - "In the one Christ we are one" echoes Saint Augustine’s reminder that in Christ, the many become one. This is the foundation of this year’s Appeal theme, We Are One. Our unity in Christ calls us to express that oneness through acts of love and service, especially toward those in need.

By supporting the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, we live out the very meaning of the Pope’s motto. Together, as one family of faith, we extend Christ’s charity to our brothers and sisters and allow His grace to work through us.

This week we officially launch our efforts for the 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Our parish goal is $[parish goal]. If you have not received a letter and Appeal information from Archbishop Coyne, you will receive it shortly. I am confident that together, with everyone’s participation, our parish will exceed our goal.

This weekend marks the start of the 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal in our parish. If you haven’t already, you will soon receive a letter from Archbishop Coyne seeking your support. As Catholics in the Archdiocese of Hartford, we can have a profound impact on our local communities not only spiritually, but intimately connected to it, the realm of social services and many charities and outreach services performed by, or with help from, our Church.

KICKOFF WEEKEND TIPS

• All parishes are to show the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal video at all Masses this weekend across the Archdiocese. In addition, please include the video in any Mass aired on the parish’s webpage and social media sites.
• Your Parish Office will receive a Downloadable Digital Appeal Video via email, in English. Links for the Appeal Video translated in Spanish and Polish will also be made available through Download ONLY. If you need another format, to present the video in your church, please contact Tina Poet, Director, of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, at 1-800-781-2550 as soon as possible.

Week #2 - Monday, 2/16/26 - Sunday, 2/22/26

PULPIT ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal has begun in our parish and throughout the Archdiocese. Last week was the Appeal Kick-off; I hope by now you have all received a request for support from Archbishop Coyne. If not, please let our office know as soon as possible. I ask that you please be as generous as your means permit to fund the charitable works of our Archdiocese.

Our goal is to engage our entire parish family in this year’s Appeal. Please pray for the success of the Appeal, both here in our parish and across the entire Archdiocese.

If you did not receive the 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal request mailing, please pick up a packet at the Church doors as you leave today.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

For our Church and all called to follow Christ's example in the wilderness: that through our Lenten sacrifices and generous support of the Archbishop's Annual Appeal, We Are One, the hungry may be fed, the homeless sheltered, and aid be given to our brothers and sisters in need. We pray to the Lord.

The 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is now underway in our parish. Your support of this year’s Appeal ensures that essential charitable, educational, and pastoral ministries of the Archdiocese of Hartford will be carried forward.

• Since 1997, Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Vicariate Outreach Program has been able to provide over $24 million in funding to community-based local charities throughout Hartford, New Haven and Litchfield Counties to assist them in their important work of serving the needs of God’s people. In 2025, we were able to provide over $1,400,000 to more than 165 various organizations, nominated by pastors, across the Archdiocese.
• Organizations such as [VOP Programs/organizations in your parish community please refer to the Accountability Report on pages 37 – 39 of the Operational Manual for your local organizations] right here in our own town received funding from the Appeal’s Vicariate Outreach Program that makes a difference in serving our neighbors.

Episodes will highlight some of the many wonderful ministries supported by the 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, We Are One. I am excited to share our parish’s progress so far in the 2026 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. Each parish has received a goal for this year’s Appeal. As I have mentioned previously, our parish goal is $[parish goal]. This goal is our parish’s offering to the overall Appeal effort. By reaching or exceeding our goal we support the many “Good Works” and ministries our Archdiocese offers to those who seek religious education, pastoral support, and charitable care – all made possible by the Appeal.

• That through the Archbishop's Annual Appeal, We Are One, we may continue to spread the Gospel, support our clergy, and care for those in need, especially the poor, sick, and marginalized. We pray to the Lord. 
• For all contributors to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, that their generosity will give them joy and peace. We pray to the Lord.
