This unique program allows nonprofits like the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal to raise funds easily while receiving a 15% bonus on every dollar raised, thanks to the support of Webster Bank. By supporting the Appeal through Birdies for Charity, you are not only helping support the ministries of the Archdiocese, but you are also amplifying the impact of every dollar you give. Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Gifts
Under the SECURE 2.0 Act, the age at which individuals must begin taking Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) has increased to 73. For example, if you turned 72 in 2023, your first RMD is due by April 1, 2025 (for the 2024 tax year), with subsequent RMDs required annually by December 31. However, starting at age 70½, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. A QCD allows you to donate up to $108,000 per year directly to a qualified charity without incurring income tax on the distribution. This can be a tax-efficient way to support causes that matter to you.
Please consult your tax advisor and kindly instruct your retirement account broker to make the check payable to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal, and mail it to 467 Bloomfield Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Please call the Appeal Office at (800) 781-2550 with any questions you may have regarding this gift.
